About the Program
In the Making is a new Arts Merri-bek program designed for artists to share works in progress with peers and mentors in a supportive environment.
We are offering a stream for local writers to share their work and receive constructive feedback from writing peers. Being able to give and receive feedback on your own and others’ written creative work is hard, but an invaluable skill writers can use to reflect on their own practice and to help further develop their own work.
Facilitated by writers and Writing Days facilitators Suzanne Hermanoczki and Lou Smith, in this workshop you will be guided on how to talk about your own writing or work, consider how to respectfully communicate feedback to peers, and discuss how to receive others’ feedback about your creative work, with tips on how to help manage personal expectations (and keep writing!).
The program includes the opportunity for workshop participants to present their work at the final performing night on 30th May at Balam Balam Place. Please advise Writing Days via the EOI form if you'd like to present.
Who can apply?
This program is open to all types of writers working in any genre.
To be eligible applicants need live, work or study in Merri-bek. The program encourages applications from Merri-bek's Human Rights Priority Groups.
We don’t want to censor anyone, but we need to be respectful of others and other writers.
