About the Program
Arts Merri-bek supports performers and producers in the creation of new or existing performance works by providing dedicated rehearsal and development space at the Coburg Courthouse located at 1A Main St, Coburg.
The Coburg Court House Residency program will support up to three residencies for a three-month period each. The program aims to support artists at different stages in their project’s lifecycle, whether it is a developing concept, an emerging draft, or an existing scripted work.
Who can apply?
Coburg Courthouse Residency Program is suitable for performing artists and producers. This can include dancers, theatre-makers, actors, sound artists, spoken word performers, stand-up/imrpov comedians, and physical theatre/circus performers.
The residency is a valuable opportunity which is open to performers or producers who are in need of a rehearsal space to develop a performance work over a three-month period.
To be eligible applicants need live or work in Merri-bek. The program encourages applications from Merri-bek's Human Rights Priority Groups.
In line with Merri-bek’s Arts and Culture Strategy, to increase self-determined programming and participation opportunities for First Peoples (Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People), Arts Merri-bek will award at least one residency to this priority group.
How to apply
To apply for the Coburg Court House Residency program please read all the information in the Coburg Court House Residency Program Guidelines document and fill out the form below.
Applicants must include support material that highlights their creative practice. Please include artist bios, at least one attachedment (video/photo) and up to three links.
Please note: You can submit sections of your Expression of Interest via recorded video presentation, simply talk to the camera and tell us about your project. To do so add a link to the videohosted online in the text sections as appropriate.
Applications close 28 October, 5pm. Late applications will not be accepted.
